Some move the needle more than others.<\/p>\n<p>Nobody knows what makes the perfect backlink, but Google says you should build them from other prominent websites on the subject.<\/p>\n<p>Google has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/intl\/en_uk\/search\/howsearchworks\/how-search-works\/ranking-results\/\">systems in place<\/a> to help it understand what searchers want.<sup\/>You, too, need to understand this if you want to\u00a0rank.<\/p>\n<p>How? There\u2019s no foolproof formula, but the top-ranking results offer\u00a0clues.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For example, most of the top results for \u201cair fryer\u201d are blog posts with top picks. This indicates that searchers are in research mode, not buying mode.
